Music
At Rocky River Presbyterian Church
we truly believe it is good to "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord."
Our Mission Statement begins with the phrase
Praising God, and music plays a major role in our
worship services. Under the gifted leadership of our
Director of Music, Ginny Roedig, each Sunday we can
expect to have a unique and inspiring musical experience.
Guest vocal and instrumental soloists and ensembles
frequently augment our four choirs. Our church is
presently blessed with
4 ensembles in the music department.
Cherub Choir Children

Rehearses Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:10 p.m.
Members learn the basic fundamentals of music,
incorporating elements of Christian faith into
the lessons.
Youth Choir

Rehearses immediately following worship services.
Future joint performances with other west-shore
church youth choirs are scheduled.
The Chancel Choir

from 7:30 to 9:00 and Sunday mornings at 9:45.
New singers are always welcome.

Handbells
Youth and adults, rehearses Thursday evenings
from 6:15 to 7:30. In addition to our multi-octave
set of English hand bells, we have a set of hand-held
children's chimes that the Cherub and Youth choirs
employ to augment their performances.
There are also informal women's and men's singing groups
that perform once or twice a year. These groups are designed
to give those who can't commit to regular choir rehearsals a
chance to participate in our music program. We are blessed
to have several excellent keyboard instruments:
Ahlborn-Galanti Prealudium III Digital Organ
Our 3-rank digital organ can accurately reproduce the sound
of everything from a small country-church pump organ
to a full European cathedral pipe organ.
Harpsichord
When musically appropriate, we employ our
Sabathil & Son harpsichord to provide soft,
intimate accompaniment or solo music.
Electronic Keyboard
We have the capability to provide special musical
effects through the use of our
Techniques SX-PR902 electronic keyboard.
Pianos
In addition to a superb Schiller concert baby grand,
we have several upright pianos, for use in rehearsal
as well as main sanctuary/chapel performances.
Our main sanctuary's extraordinary acoustic qualities
are well known to musical performing groups and individuals throughout northeast Ohio.
